Sentence Alternatives

If you have to serve a sentence in jail for a misdemeanor, it is important to know HOW you must serve it. There is straight time, and there are a number of variations. The number of hours in a day that you're in jail varies quite a bit, but so does the cost. Alas, you cannot choose how you serve your sentence. The judge does that at your sentencing hearing. Your attorney can argue for one method if you tell them. Keep in mind as well that judges may impose one sentence for one sentence alternative, but a different sentence for another. And the judge may not allow you any alternative at all.
